Frequently asked questions
How do I migrate my catalogue of singles to Soundacer?
Migration works just like distributing a new release, with one difference: each product’s UPC and ISRC codes must be the ones your previous distributor already assigned. You will usually find them in their dashboard; if not, ask their support team.
So that all the data matches, set the Release Date to the date the track was originally released (a new date would make it count as a new release). Set the Live Date to the date from which you want it distributed by us: always in the future, with at least 3 business days’ notice.
Important: do not take your products down from your previous distributor until they appear correctly duplicated on the platforms.
Why do I get an error when creating my “Main Artist”?
The platform detects that your email is already used by your dashboard account. The temporary fix is to add +1 to the end of your address (for example, myemail+1@gmail.com). You will still receive all notifications.
Why is my release getting a copyright claim on YouTube?
The platform includes YouTube Content Protect ID, enabled by default. If you are an emerging artist we recommend switching it off: in the Aggregation step, at the very bottom, you will see the “Youtube Content Protect ID” button.
If you have already confirmed the distribution, we can add an exception for your music video: write to the support chat in the dashboard with the single’s UPC and the unlisted video link. Technical support speaks Spanish and English.
How do I get my pre-save link?
There are two types. On the Pro or Top plan you get the premium pre-save: request it through the contact form with the full title of the single and your artist name. It helps you gain Spotify followers and improve your algorithmic reach.
You can create the basic pre-save yourself in the dashboard: Catalog Administration → the product → Smart Links → Actions → Generate Smart-Link URL.
How far in advance should I distribute a single to get a good pitch?
Ideally, upload it at least 21 days in advance so we can pitch your song properly.
Why aren’t my releases getting onto playlists?
We pitch all the music we work with, both editorially and internally, but playlist placement depends on several factors and is not guaranteed: whether the style fits the playlist network we work with, whether the song has a professional sound, how many releases are competing that week and your distribution plan (the Starter plan offers fewer opportunities).
